For this piece I had the idea to use as a surface or pattern design. I'm not quite sure what kind of flower this is possibly a clematis of Jasmine?

Time To Sleep

This is a little illustration I did at the start of the week as a practice piece, I found it hard to create a balance between the warm tones of the mouse and nest to the dark background I think I might revisit this idea in the future.

Throwback Thursday Solstice hare

It's Throwback Thursday again! This week I'm sharing one of my favourite pieces from last year I went with a more mature detailed look with this piece which I really enjoyed, I'd love to maybe look at doing this piece as a mixed media too although I need to practice a lot more first!

Getting Ready For Mother's Day

This is a piece from last week, as an animal lover I really love drawing animals and I think they're probably one of my favourite subjects when it comes to art. I am quite happy with how this turner out although sometimes I feel I'd like my images too look as photorealistic as possible, but I've never really been able to achieve that, and then I wouldn't be able to have so much fun playing with textures and collage!

Throwback Thursday

As this week's 'Throwback Thursday' I wanted to share an observational study. I created this piece to practice using tones but also contrasting the smooth leaves to the rough texture of the plant pot. My aloe plant didn't survive long (I suspect I over watered it) but it didn't put me off trying to have a green thumb.

Cherry Blossom Spring

So if you remember a few posts ago I mentioned how I rather like the winter with snow and frost... I take it all back, after having a nasty fall on some ice I'm so ready for the arrival of spring here in the UK! This is an illustration I made last week of cherry blossoms I really look forward to seeing those pretty white and pink flowers each year as a real sign of spring. Also this year I'm trying to be more organised when it comes to planning greetings cards for my Etsy shop before holidays, with Valentines done I'm starting Mother's Day and Easter designs.

Throwback Thursday Studio Ghibli

 

 

Throwback Thursday! This is a post displaying my Studio Ghibli Fan art pieces, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Kiki's Delivery Service. I loved watching anime growing up and even though I don't really watch much now I still really love watching Studio Ghibli, the art style is just such an inspiration. The first one I saw was My Neighbour Totoro I remember the first time I saw it so well, I had never seen something with such originality, imagination and unique characters and from then I was hooked.

Succulent gratitude

This is a recent design I made for a greetings card. I used to make greetings cards all the time when I was little for my family so I wanted to continue doing that and have built my Etsy shop from that. I really like succulents and cacti (although mine end up sick a lot) I guess all the chilly UK weather even gets to them on my window ledge!

The Detectorist

A piece I made from last week inspired by the tv series Detectorists made using digital collage. I really enjoyed watching that tv series my favourite characters were Russel and Sheila with her lemonade.
